An afternoon crowd turned out at the corner of Broad Street and Fourth Street in downtown Gadsden for the City of Gadsden's 9-11 Remembrance Ceremony.
Gadsden State Instructor George Terrell spoke of one of his friends killed in the terrorist attacks of Sept. 11, 2001 in New York City. Students from Gadsden State sang patriotic songs, and members of the Gadsden Fire Department presented the flag.
The ceremony ended with the playing of "Taps" and the release of several doves of peace.
