The Gadsden City Council Tuesday today approved a tax abatement agreement to help speed a plant expansion.
The agreement with Stamped Products will give the company 10 years of non-educational property tax and construction tax-related abatements. City leaders said the company is planning a $2.4 million expansion that will create 12 jobs.
In other business, the council also approved 17 surveillance cameras for the city's transit system. The cameras will cost about $26,700. The cameras will be paid for using a grant.
