Madison police arrested 27-year-old Desiree Dawn Childers on Tuesday, several days after her child apparently drowned in a bath tub.
Police officers along with paramedics responded to a home on Oak Brook Circle on Friday on a medical call involving an infant who had possibly drowned in a bath tub. The child was taken to Huntsville Hospital and later pronounced dead.
After an investigation, the infant's mother, Desiree Dawn Childers was arrested on Sept. 3 and charged with murder. She's being held in the Metro Jail without bond.
The investigation is ongoing and more charges could be filed.
The Madison Police Department said they understand the community's desire for information in cases like this one, but since it's an ongoing investigation, limited information can be released.
