The suspect in a murder-for-hire plot is expected to appear in federal court.
Allen Morgan, of Anniston, will appear before the judge for a detention hearing after he underwent a psychiatric evaluation.
Federal investigators say they went undercover, posing as KKK members. They claim Morgan shared his murder plot with them, saying he wanted his neighbor killed because he believed the neighbor raped his wife.
The 12-minute conversation took place Thursday, Aug. 22. Authorities say that Morgan starts by telling the undercover agent that he just unloaded a magazine on his neighbor, a man he refers to as "that [N-word]." Morgan allegedly described shooting the man one time at a friend's house.
When the man ran away, Morgan says he shot at him 3 more times but intentionally missed. As the conversation continued, authorities say Morgan accused his neighbor of raping a 13-year-old girl and brutally raping his wife. He allegedly added that the man deserved everything he gets.
Morgan and the undercover agent talked about having approval from the Ku Klux Klan to kill the neighbor and Morgan's alibi.
Before the call ended, the two men agreed to meet three days later to go over more details. That Sunday, Aug. 25, Morgan went to the Ocono Lodge in Oxford where he was arrested by FBI agents.
