A long-time staple on Birmingham radio passed away over the Labor Day holiday.
Wayne Wallace passed away yesterday.
He worked at Crawford Broadcasting stations for more than 45 years and was known for hosting the Dixie Gospel Caravan.
In a statement released today, Crawford Broadcasting described Wallace as "a loyal Crawford Broadcasting employee. He was optimistic, funny, and brought joy to those around him in any situation. He loved his family and loved his listeners as if they were family."
Funeral arrangements have yet to be released.
