Anniston Police have arrested two men in connection to a grocery store robbery that ended with the owner shot and driving himself away to get help.
Angelo Smith and Teddrick Carr face first degree robbery charges. Smith is also charged with carrying a pistol without a permit.
The robbery happened at Black's Grocery Store and More on West 15th Street in Anniston Friday, Aug. 23. Police say the owner got into a scuffle with one of the robbers and was shot in the chest.
The owner then drove home, told his mother he'd been shot and collapsed. She called 9-1-1 and the man was taken to the hospital for treatment. He is recovering.
