(WDNG) - Three people have been arrested in connection with counterfeit currency being passed at Anniston bars. Anniston police on Thursday arrested 22-year-old Audrianna Triana Swink, 31-year-old Christopher Dale Grayson, and 24-year-old Justin Javarius Cleveland, all on charges of first-degree possession of a forged instrument.
Anniston police Capt. Allen George said officers were originally called to AJ’s Sunset Bar and Grill on Hillyer Robinson Industrial Pkwy in the early morning hours of Sunday, Aug. 4. He said the bar’s security that night had detained a woman who tried to pass a fake $100 bill and while they waited for police, a man attempted to pass yet another counterfeit $100 bill.
George said the man and woman told police they weren't aware the money was fake and denied knowing each other. Police reportedly took the counterfeit currency and released the suspects.
According to George, The Smoking Moose Saloon on Noble St. called police the following day to report $1,400 in counterfeit $100 bills had been passed late Aug. 3, just hours before the incident at the AJ’s. George said surveillance footage from The Smoking Moose identified two men as the suspects who spent the fake money and added that Swink was allegedly with Grayson and Cleveland.
George said Cleveland and Swink were arrested just after noon on Thursday during a traffic stop and Grayson was arrested at a Glen Addie Ave. home about three hours later. Police reports indicate that the two males suspects were each charged with a single felony, while Swink was being charged with two felonies.
