(WDNG) - A St. Clair County road will soon be getting upgrades to allow restaurants and a truck stop entice drivers on Interstate 20. A release from the governor’s office says $200,000 in grant money has been awarded to Moody mayor Joe Lee to make improvements to Kelley Creek Road.
According to the release, the Community Development Block Grant will reportedly upgrade the two-lane road to increase traffic flow for a proposed Love’s Travel Stop and Country Store and two fast-food restaurants. Gov. Robert Bentley says the project will help page the way for about 70 new jobs in St. Clair County while providing a boost in commerce for the city of Moody.
$200,000 are being made available by the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development and will be equally matched by the city.
