A former Montgomery physician is going to jail for his role in a murder-for-hire hilling. The Associated Press reports David Nash was found guilty of capital murder on Friday after about two hours of jury deliberation.
Nash was reportedly accused of paying cousins Kindall and Jeremy Riley to kill Ralph McNeil in 2011. According to the AP, McNeil was in a child custody dispute with Serena English, who was Nash’s then-fiancee. Nash will reportedly be sentenced next month and prosecutors have no desire to pursue the death penalty.
The AP reports that testimony from the trial shows English and Nash began dating after her breakup with McNeil. She reportedly said the two would smoke thousands of dollars of crack-cocaine purchsed from Jeremy Riley. According to the AP, English and Jeremy Riley both pleaded guilty and Kindall Riley’s trial ended in a hung jury.
