My Pamela's Place guest for Friday, 8/9/13 is Dr. Erica Kosal, Resilience Expert, Doctor of Biology, Founder of
"Bounce to Resilience", and Author of "Miracles for Daddy: A Family's Inspirational Fight against a Modern Medical Goliath"
Newsweek poll indicates 84% of Americans say they believe God performs miracles; 48% of people claim to have experienced or witnessed one.
Dr. Erica Kosal is one of those people.
After Erica's husband, Jim, received a fatal health diagnosis, Erica and Jim realized that something was not quite right.
That "6 months to live" declaration was years and several small miracles ago.
Dr. Erica Kosal's book, "Miracles for Daddy" chronicles her family's fortitude and resilience and reminds you of life's precious miracles.
Jim Young and Dr. Erica Kosal, educators at the corporate and university level, currently reside in Raleigh, North Carolina. Married since 1999, Erica and Jim are raising two young and wonderful children, a son and a daughter, as the fight for Jim's health continues.
Erica and Jim know a few things about hardship and adversity. In 2007, after a misdiagnosis of ALS/Lou Gehrig's Disease, Jim was diagnosed with chronic Lyme Disease and has been in a fight for his life - quite literally. The battle is ongoing as Jim's health continues to fluctuate.
He currently has a tracheostomy, suffers from neuromuscular and pituitary issues, and has lost over 30 pounds in weight. Jim is ventilator dependent and uses a wheelchair. He is unable to work currently and receives help from his family and nurses throughout the day.
Additionally, this couple has battled the health insurance company, been audited by the IRS, and have faced financial crisis due to medical bills.
Erica and Jim have utilized a variety of strategies to make their way through this setback and concluded that others might also benefit from their ultimate resiliency. To that end, the multiple strategies are documented as Rebounding Game Plans.
Hear their story at 10:00 a.m. CST on Pamela's Place, immediately after Fox News.
