A Sylacauga woman was killed when a tractor trailer struck her car as she pulled out of a restaurant parking lot. The Daily Home of Talladega reports 65-year-old Kay Wood died on Friday afternoon.
Authorities say Wood was leaving Mama Mee’s Restaurant on U.S. Highway 280 when a tractor-trailer struck the rear end of her Dodge Intrepid and pushed it across the highway. According to The Daily Home, the truck driver was badly shaken but otherwise unharmed.
Traffic in the area of the accident was reportedly slowed for more than 90 minutes while Alabama State Troopers investigated the wreckage and removed the vehicles from the roadway.
