(WDNG) - Anniston police are investigating the theft of a camping trailer from a Golden Springs area parking lot. Anniston police on Monday were notified about the disappearance of a 31-foot camping trailer from the parking lot at the corner of Henry Road and Choccolocco Road.
Anniston police Cpt. Allen George said on Tuesday the 1999 Sea Hawk camper was for sale in the parking lot. The owner reportedly drove by late Sunday night and saw the trailer, but when driving by the following afternoon noticed it was missing.
It is currently unclear if surveillance equipment caught the theft and George said an investigator had been assigned to the case early Tuesday morning.
According to police reports, the cost of the camping trailer is estimated at $12,000. Potential suspects in the case could face felony first-degree theft charges.
