(WDNG) - An Anniston man is in jail for allegedly stealing nearly $12,000 from his grandfather. Anniston police on Friday arrested 25-year-old Joshua David Wilson on five separate charges of fraudulent use of a credit card.
Anniston police Cpt. Allen George said Wilson’s grandfather had suspected his grandson of using an ATM card without his knowledge. George said surveillance video from ATMs in the area showed Wilson using the card to withdraw cash. He is also accused of trying to illegally cash two checks at area banks.
George said a total of about $11,770 was withdrawn from the victim’s bank account. Police reports indicate the thefts began sometime in May. Wilson was arrested at a Weaver residence on Sunday and taken to the Anniston city jail on a $10,000 bond.
He is expected in court on August 5.
