Gadsden Police say they found a sex offender camping out next to the city's new Black Creek Trail.
Detective Wayne Hammond says he saw the man a couple of times living in a tent in a wooded area. He arrested Danyl Whitewing after he moved to the Noccalula Falls campground.
Whitewing is now charged with violating the community notification act and specifically, for living too close to a school or daycare. He had been convicted of sexual abuse in Bibb County.
The campground where Whitewing was living is near Mitchell Elementary School and Noccalula Academy Daycare.
