Officials in Marshall County have arrested a man accused of travelling over 900 miles to meet an Alabama teen he met online. The Associated Press reports 20-year-old Dakota Pielow, of western New York state, was arrested and charged with sexual abuse and sodomy.
Marshall County Sheriff Scott Walls tells the AP that Pielow apparently rode a bus from New York to meet a 14-year-old girl he met online. Pielow reportedly ran from the the girl’s house when her mother caught them together.
He was later arrested in Scottsboro and is being held in the Marhsall County jail without bond.
