It may soon be more difficult to get medicine in Alabama to treat the common cold.
The goal of a new bill is to limit access to ingredients used to cook methamphetamines. Lawmakers are considering bills that would make pseudoephedrine a controlled substance. The proposed legislation has mixed reviews. Drug agents in West Alabama say, if the legislation passes, it would cut down on addicts pharmacy shopping. However, members of the Business Council of Alabama believe seeing a doctor for the common cold could lead to higher costs in healthcare.
