(WDNG) - Anniston police this week arrested 28-year-old Tyreese Lamont-Sinard Lewis and 27-year-old Chandron Rashard Northard in connection with stealing a utility trailer from the 2000 block of Cooper Avenue.
Anniston police Cpt. Allen George said police were dispatched to the scene on Sunday but were flagged down near the intersection of 21st St. and Walnut Ave. A witness described to police the suspects and their vehicle and during their conversation, the suspects drove by police.
Officers followed the vehicle for several blocks in what George described as a “cat and mouse” situation before the suspects finally stopped. George said the suspects appeared cooperative during the traffic stop and Lewis was arrested on an existing federal warrant through the ATF.
The trailer was later found behind a home on the 1900 block of Walnut Ave. that belongs to Lewis’s grandmother. Warrants were signed on Monday for Northard and Lewis in connection with the theft. Police arrested Northard on Thursday on felony second-degree theft charges.
Both men were being held on a $10,000 bond each and are scheduled to appear in court on July 8 to face felony second-degree theft charges.
