Anniston police arrest a woman accused of stealing candy and lotion. Anniston police on Saturday arrested 56-year-old Marsha Ragland Roberts on charges of third degree theft. Roberts allegedly stole about $30 worth of items from the Family Dollar on Quintard Avenue in Anniston.
Anniston police Cpt. Allen George said Roberts reportedly left the store without paying for several items. Around 6:30 p.m. on Saturday evening, George said police stopped a red Cadillac DeVille driven by the suspect less than a block away from the store. After speaking with the officer, Roberts reportedly admitted to having the items in her purse.
Police reports indicate bags of candy, bottles of lotion, and candles were stolen. Roberts was released from the Anniston jail on Saturday night on a $500 bond. According to police reports, Roberts faces misdemeanor third-degree theft charges.
