One city in St. Clair County is considering a ban on certain breeds of dogs. WBRC-TV reports several dog owners attended Monday’s Springville city council meeting. Some dog owners were reportedly upset the city is considering a dangerous animal ordinance that would specifically ban pit bulls and some wolf hybrids.
According to WBRC-TV, a representative from the Greater Birmingham Humane Society told the council that officials should not limit their concerns to specific breeds and that such an ordinance would be difficult to enforce.
Mayor Wayne Tucker told the television station that the council will probably vote on the ordinance in about a month after the city attorney researches implementation and enforcement.
