More than 400 students associated with Future Farmers of America in the state are heading to the state capital in a fight against hunger. The Associated Press reports the FFA students plan to pack 40,000 take-home meals and donate them to food banks on Wednesday. Lt. Gov. Kay Ivey and House budget committee Chairman Jay Love are scheduled to help the initiative during Wednesday’s FFA state convention.
According to the AP, the FFA Rally Against Hunger is sponsored by the Alabama FFA Foundation and the Alabama FFA Association. Wednesday’s Rally Against Hunger is part of the 85th annual Alabama FFA Convention starts on Tuesday in Auburn and will conclude on Friday in Montgomery.
