The Walker County Coroner has confirmed that two people were killed on Friday morning after their bus was involved in an accident. 911 operators received the call around 8:10 a.m. about the accident.
The accident happened on West Ridgewood Road in the Farmstead community when the bus left the road and struck a tree. The bus belonged to the Arc of Walker County and five people were in the bus at the time.
57-year-old Raymond Austin died at the scene. 44-year-old Phillip McDuff died at Walker Baptist Hospital. Two other occupants were transported to UAB hospital. The coroner had no information on the 5th occupant.
Jasper police are investigating the accident.
