Officials from the Alabama Department of Corrections say an inmate has been stabbed to death at a prison in Bibb County.
Authorities say 22-year-old Steven Edward Geiman was fatally stabbed in a fight with another inmate, 29-year-old William Gilchrist, Sunday evening at the Bibb County Correctional Facility.
Officials say the Department of Forensic Sciences is performing an autopsy on Geiman to determine the man's official cause of death. The medium security facility was still on lockdown Tuesday.
Geiman is at least the second Alabama prison inmate to be stabbed to death in a week. Another inmate, 54-year-old Anthony Jones, was stabbed to death during a fight at the Donaldson Correctional Facility in Bessemer on May 19.
