An Oneonta police officer rushed to the hospital after an overnight crash.
Officer Tommy Herd was helping the Blount Co. Sheriff's office pursue a DUI suspect on County Road 9 near the Cox Cove Road intersection. Officer Herd was en route to put spikes in the load when he hit a curb and traveled up an embankment.
Herd was rushed to UAB. He has a minor head injury, and might have a broken neck bone.
Three suspects were later arrested.
