(WDNG) - Some parks across Calhoun County will be getting some help from the county commission. The Calhoun County Commission on Thursday unanimously approved four pieces of business that are aimed at helping parks and recreation centers across the county.
Nances Creek Community & Recreation Center in the northern section of the county will receive a section of property from the commission that will be used as a park. The Pleasant Valley Recreational Sports Association will receive $1,000 from the county to purchase materials for youth sports and Hobson City will receive $8,000 for the Community & Economic Development Corporation to build a park.
A piece of county property at the Ohatchee Barn was also transferred to the town of Ohatchee. According to the resolution approving the transfer, that Ohatchee property is no longer used by the county.
