Lots of smiles, hugs and kisses will make this Monday afternoon memorable for the families of returning members of the Alabama Army National Guard's 1/167th Infantry Battalion and subordinate units. The Talladega-based battalion has spent more than ten months active duty in Afghanistan. This battalion has played a role in every major American war since the Civil War. Homecoming events today are planned for: Company A - Valley National Guard Armory 2:00 p.m. Company B - Pelham National Guard Armory - 1:00 p.m. Company C - Cullman National Guard Armory - 1:00 p.m. Company D - Sylacauga Legion Stadium - 1:00 p.m. Company E and Company F - Lincoln at SPEED Dome- 2:00 p.m.
