The Anniston City Council during their Tuesday meeting also passed the Anniston Ecotourism Beverage Bill. The bill will give licensed businesses the option to sell alcohol on Sunday. A public hearing before the vote saw no opposition.
The bill allows businesses to sell alcohol seven days per week. On-premises sales will be allowed on Sunday no earlier than 11 a.m. and off-premises sales will be allowed no earlier than noon. Sales could start as early as this weekend once the notification is published in the city’s newspaper of general circulation, The Anniston Star.
