A suspect has been arrested in connection to a string of vandalism in east Anniston. Five vehicles were vandalized with obscene language written in gold spray paint late Sunday and early Monday morning. Anniston police Sgt. Chris Sparks says a suspect possibly linked to the vandalism has been arrested on charges of arson and burglary.
Three of the vandalized vehicles were located in an east Anniston neighborhood. An SUV along with a passenger car located on Rocky Hollow Road both received damage. A Ford Expedition on Johnston Drive less than half a mile away was also damaged. According to police reports, damages to those three cars is estimated at nearly $3,400.
Information on the other two vehicles was not immediately available. Sparks said the suspect’s name cannot be released at this time, citing an ongoing investigation. According to police reports, any potential suspects would face misdemeanor criminal mischief charges in each incident.
