The Alabama Crimson Tide held a scrimmage Saturday, getting fans excited about the up-coming football season. Thousands showed up for the event.. hoping to get a great preview of what's to come. A much anticipated A-day for Alabama fans. Tony Vanhorn says, "It was an all around Alabama Day." They packed the sidewalks, they bought Tide apparel and souvenirs and they saw action.. Ronnie Lett says, "Offensively it looked like we got a lot of skilled players." "We wanted to see how the defense looked." Stephanie Roberson and her family drove a long way for A-Day. "We came from Florida, we drove seven hours to do this, it's absolutely phenomenal."
Roberson was disappointed Tailback, Derrick Henry, was out with a broken leg.. but was still impressed with the team. Vanhorn says, "AJ, I want to see him win the Heisman." And many wanted to see Coach Saban. Delvin Rainer says "He's in control of everything, it was a real good scrimmage after all. "I get to see what I get to look forward to this year." Cory Cantrell wanted to see the future talents of Alabama, while slipping a ring on the finger of his future wife during the 2nd quarter. "Love and football, can't get better than that!." And you can't get much more optimistic than this. Rainer says, "The team looks real good. I can see them going three times." It's the first A-Day.. since the death of Former Athletics Director, Mal Moore, last month. One fan said he considered Moore a legend in Alabama Football and said his work at the university will always be remembered.
