Anniston police are investigating an apparent string of thefts from vehicles. Anniston police Sgt. Chris Sparks tells The Anniston Star that his department is seeing a “dramatic increase” in the number of car break-ins.
According to The Star, a woman told police she found her car’s rear window was shattered on Monday. A set of speakers were allegedly taken from that car on South Allen Avenue. A separate incident reported by The Star says $1,150 worth of stereo equipment was taken from a vehicle on McClellan Boulevard after two back windows of that car were broken.
Police tell The Star that two other vehicles on Thomas Ave were reportedly left unlocked and had nearly $300 of stereo equipment stolen.
