Oxford Police Lt. L.G. Owens says 39-year-old Eli Scrutchins of Woodstock, Ga. was arrested Sunday in Atlanta without incident. Owens says the suspect was taken into custody in a collaborated effort of the U.S. Marshals “Gulf Coast” and “Southeast Regional” Fugitive Task Forces along with the FBI.
Authorities were searching for Scrutchins in connection with the March 5 robbery of the Farmers and Merchants Bank on Ali Way in Oxford. During the robbery, the suspect was armed with a handgun and fled with an undisclosed amount of money.
