Some Alabama National Guard employees are getting unwelcomed notices on their desks: furlough letters. 1,200 employees will get them in all. This comes as the result of the automatic federal spending cuts known as "the sequester." It means up to 22 unpaid days off, equaling a paycut for most employees of about 20%.
