A school bus wreck in Etowah County injured the bus driver and sent the driver of the other vehicle to the hospital. No students were on board the bus when it wrecked around 4 p.m. Dr. Alan Cosby, the Etowah County Schools Superintendent, said. The bus was heading back to Gadsden when it collided with another vehicle on Highway 278 near Beasley Road in the Hokes Bluff area.
The driver of the other vehicle had to be airlifted to a Birmingham hospital for treatment. There is no update on that person's condition. The bus driver suffered minor injuries from the crash.
