Traffic was blocked off in Shelby County Friday after a fatal crash. So far, we know one person has been killed in an accident on Highway 119 near Oak Grove Baptist Church. Traffic is being diverted at Doug Baker Boulevard, and also at Asbury United Methodist Church.
At approximately 11:42 a.m. Friday, a motor vehicle crash with injuries occurred on Alabama Highway 119 (Cahaba Valley Road) near the intersection of Meadowood Drive that resulted in the closure of the highway in this area.
At this time, deputies have reopened the highway to traffic in both directions. Law enforcement officers conducting the crash investigation may still be present in the area. Motorists are urged to continue to exercise caution as they travel on this highway.
