One of Gadsden's most well known officers is at the center of a disciplinary investigation. Gadsden's Civil Service Board held a disciplinary hearing for Captain Regina May on Tuesday. She is the commander of the department's detective division. May is accused of spreading "malicious rumors and gossip," going outside the chain of command, and failing to assign multiple cases in the detective division. The charges were brought by the Gadsden police chief. If the board upholds the charges, Captain May could be suspended or fired.
