The only prize one would typically find inside of a box of Cheerios cereal is the food. But for a couple of Floridians traveling through Abbeville, Alabama, the ingredients weren't wholegrain or wholesome. Abbeville police initiated a routine traffic stop Tuesday morning along Highway 431 South of town. While searching the vehicle belonging to Darryl Lee Gaudette, 49, and Cynthia Kelly, 35, officers found something that wasn't part of one's complete, balanced breakfast. Hidden inside the cereal box were ingredients not listed on the packaging, namely 459 grams of crystal meth and marijuana. There wasn't a toy prize buried in the bottom, but the discovery of $2,000 in cash could have more than purchased a few. Officers arrested and charged Gaudette and Kelly, both of Fountain, Florida, with multiple crimes.
Gaudette now faces possession of drug paraphernalia and drug trafficking charges, while Kelly is charged with possession of marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia and drug trafficking. Both are being held in the Henry County Jail with no bond awaiting an initial appearance in court. In all, police say they took more than $60,000 worth of crystal meth off the street
