Bikers from all over hit the road on Saturday in honor of a Heflin police officer shot in the line of duty. Officer Jackie Stovall was shot in the leg while chasing a murder suspect in Oxford in December of 2012. Stovall is out of work while recovering from his injuries. "I could see that he was fixing to hurt somebody," Stovall said. "And I stepped out and he turned the gun from them to me and he got me before I could get him." The proceeds from Saturday's ride will benefit Stovall and his family. The suspect in that shooting was later killed by S.W.A.T. officers.
