The Daily Home of Talladega reports Central Alabama Community College President Stephen Franks has been placed on administrative leave after taking the position in 2007. The Alabama Department of Postsecondary Education made the announcement late last week but a Central Alabama Community College spokesperson said the school is not prepared to issue a statement.
Department of Postsecondary Education official Dean Argo told The Daily Home that six schools in the community college system are transitioning to a new software program with a stronger financial accounting package. Argo said the school’s business office was having difficulty with the transition and made the change to bring in “a fresh and objective perspective to oversee the business office review and software implementation.”
Dean of academic transfers for Bevill State University Susan Burrow has been named acting president of the Central Alabama Community College until further notice.
