The final day of the Final 48 AHSAA state basketball championships at the BJCC tipped off Saturday morning with the Class 3A girls title game. Lauderdale County took home the state trophy by blowing out Holly Pond 59-41. Josh Langford helped lead Madison Academy to the 3A boys title as they beat Southside-Selma 54-47. Langford finished the day with 21 points, 19 rebounds and six assists. The Oneonta girls won the Class 4A state championship with a 53-39 victory over Clarke County. With the win, the Bulldogs ended the season with a 32-4 final record. Madison County took home the 4A boys title with a 28-25 victory over J.O. Johnson.
The Hoover girls won their third straight 6A title tonight after beating Blount 66-55.
In the final game of the Final 48, the Mountain Brook Spartans will square off with Sparkman for the Class 6A boys state championship. Tipoff is set for 7 p.m.
