Who killed a 22-year-old Leeds man earlier this month? That's information Andrew Cory Martin's family and friends are willing to pay for. They are now offering a $1,000 reward.
Fennigan Spencer is on a mission to get answers. Thursday morning, he hung posters and set up signs all with the picture of a dear friend, Andrew Martin. "I've only known him under a year, but he was a special man to me because he loved my daughter so much and she loved him," Spencer said. Nearly three weeks ago, on February 8, 22-year-old Martin was shot and killed at an intersection in Avondale. "We all loved Andrew very much and we feel justice need to be served in this senseless killing," Spencer said. Since Martin's death on Feb. 8, there's been no arrest in the case. Family and friends haven't got a lot of answers. So Spencer decided to try and find some. "Did a lot of praying and can't sit around crying all the time. So I had to do something proactive," he explained. That led to him creating these signs offering a $1,000 plus reward. He knows money talks. "Someone saw something. He was killed in broad daylight on this busy street corner right here. 4:30, 5 p.m. on a Friday," Spencer said. "It could happen to anybody. This could be your son, nephew, child. So please, speak out if you know something," he pleaded.
If you have any information about this case about Andrew Martin, you're asked to call Detective Rogers with the Birmingham Police Department at 205-254-1764.
