A Heflin police officer who was shot and wounded in the line of duty had more surgery today. Officer Jackie Stovall was shot just after a chase in Oxford. He was stopping a shooting rampage that left three people dead just outside Heflin. The shooter, Romero Moya, later died after Oxford police opened fire on him. Stovall has been in and out of the hospital ever since. Chief AJ Benefield says Stovall had been out of the hospital and was watching his son play baseball when a doctor called him back for more surgery.
