A Pinson man is arrested for sexual abuse of a child. Nicholas Carson McCloy was arrested last Friday for sexual abuse of a child less than 12 and 1st degree sodomy. The incident happened over a two year period. In August 2012, Jefferson County sheriff deputies responded to a Pinson residence to investigate a report of a sexual assault. The victim's mother told deputies that her daughter had suffered sexual abuse at the hands of Nicholas Carson McCloy. The victim told deputies that the abuse began when she was 12 years old and continued until she was 14. The young girl claimed she was afraid to tell anyone because the offender made threats against her and her mother if she did not keep it their secret. The case was investigated and in January 2013, detectives presented the case to the grand jury. 30-year-old McCloy is out on a $90,000 bond.
