Tuscaloosa police officers arrested two men on rape charges involving the same 14-year-old girl they allegedly met online. Investigators say the men met the 14-year-old girl on a social media website called "Tagged," a site where people can exchange pictures and messages. The teen's mother found messages from older men to her daughter and called police on Dec. 31, 2012.
The mother told police her teenage daughter had "met multiple adults on a social website and then met them in person at different times," Sgt. Brent Blankley with TPD said in a release. She told police officers her daughter had sex with an adult male, Blankley stated. Investigators with the Tuscaloosa Police Juvenile Division identified and interviewed two suspects. Officials found probable cause to arrest Carlos Antonio Clemons, 37, and Charles Lavoris Evans, 20. "It was kind of a mutual thing. Of course, she portrayed herself as being older. But it's quite obvious once you meet the young lady she is not close to being of age," Mike Chaisson with TPD said. Evans is charged with two counts of second degree rape and two counts of second degree sodomy. He's being held on a $40,000 bond in the Tuscaloosa County Jail. Clemons is charged with one count of second degree rape. He's being held in the Tuscaloosa County Jail on a $15,000 bond. The investigation is on-going and officials say more men could face charges in connection to raping the same girl.
