A casino developer who pleaded guilty to bribery is set for a second day of testimony in Alabama's gambling corruption trial.
Country Crossing developer Ronnie Gilley testified Wednesday that he planned to give significant campaign contributions to legislators to secure their votes for legislation designed to reopen his closed casino in Dothan. He returns to the witness stand Thursday morning in Montgomery.
Gilley is the second person who has pleaded guilty in the case to testify. Country Crossing lobbyist Jennifer Pouncy testified for three days about why she pleaded guilty to conspiring to offer bribes to legislators for their votes. In Gilley's testimony Wednesday, he apologized for a wire-tapped phone call where he proposed offering Pouncy a $50,000 bonus if she would expose her breasts to a senator
