Mr. Zig Ziglar will be very missed by many people

On Wednesday, the world has lost a man who motivated millions to approach their challenges with confidence, to inspire others to believe in them because they believe in themselves, to engage the world with integrity because that’s the only coin for reputation.
Michael Levin, who edited Zig Ziglar’s last book, “Born to Win,” says he was privileged to know one of the greatest motivators, authors, sales trainers, and inspiring figures the world has known.
“He grew up one of 12 children during the Depression, on a farm in Yazoo City, Miss., and his father passed away when he was 5 years old,” Levin recalls. “By age 6, Zig was earning his own money, and selling, mowing lawns. He used that money to buy his first suit, which he wore to church.
“By the time I met Zig face to face, he had been selling—lawn mowing services, pots and pans, sales training, personal development, and the ideas of his Holy Bible, for 79 years.”
Zig moved from sales training to personal development after studying the success of his students. He realized that only 20 percent of it was due to technique. The other 80 percent was due to reputation and character. That’s when he began to focus on those issues.
“Never say anything negative about yourself,” Ziglar once told Levin. “If we don’t see ourselves as wondrously made, who will?
Mr. Zig Ziglar will be very missed by many, and I must say I am one of them. Heaven has gained another true warrior that has made the difference in lives of countless people.
