The Gadsden State Community College in northeast Alabama shut down for the day after a woman's body was found inside the campus athletic arena.
The woman has been identified as 32-year-old Melissa Leann Hudgins, of Cedar Bluff.
Authorities classify the case as a homicide, but have not disclosed details on how Hudgins was killed.
Centre Mayor Tony Wilkie says someone found the woman's body in a mechanical room under the arena bleachers at about 9 a.m. Wednesday.
Wilkie says Hudgins was not a student at the community college.
The community college cancelled classes Wednesday after discovery of the body, but Wilkie says it could reopen as early as Thursday.
