A fire inside Ashville Elementary School caused significant damage to the school's library Sunday morning. Ashville Police stated that the fire started just before 11:00 a.m. and most likely sparked from a heating unit inside the library's wall. Ashville Police and Fire Departments, Whitney Fire Department, and Shoal Creek Fire Department all responded to the scene. Crews were able to contain the fire to just the library. Students will resume a normal school schedule Monday. The state fire marshal is investigating
