Seven fifth grade students went to the hospital for minor injuries after two school buses were involved in a wreck Wednesday morning in Alabaster. Fifth grade students from Thompson Intermediate School were on their way to DeSoto Caverns for a field trip when the wreck occurred. One school bus ran into the back of another school bus on Highway 31 and Highway 119, according to Alabaster Police. Police say none of the students' injuries were serious. They were taken to the hospital to be checked out for soreness after the wreck. The field trip was canceled for the day and the remaining students returned back to the school.
