Kristan Cox, a cheerleader at Ragland High School, died Monday evening after a car accident in the 900 block of Providence Road, in Ragland. Cox, who was passenger in the vehicle, was ejected from the vehicle after it struck a tree and then split in half.
According to neighbors, the accident happened around 7:30PM and Cox was pronounced dead on the scene. Family and friends are holding a prayer vigil at Ragland United Methodist Church Tuesday night beginning at 7 p.m.
