A Gadsden man has been charged with robbery for taking a wallet from a victim and using a debit card to withdraw money from the victim's account. Police arrested and charged Eddie Taylor, 59, on October 2 for a robbery that happened September 27. Captain Regina May says the victim of the robbery was voluntarily riding in a vehicle with Taylor when Taylor got out of the vehicle on "pretense of relieving himself." When the victim also got out of the vehicle, Taylor allegedly shoved him to the ground while a female accomplice stole his wallet, May said. Taylor then used the man's stolen debit card to take out $1,400 from his account. He is being held on a $25,000 bond for his charge of second degree robbery, seaccording to the sheriff's office website.
