Topre America is expanding in Cullman County. It's about to hire 250 new employees for its manufacturing facility.
It's an exciting day for Cullman County, more jobs and better pay. Manufacturing company, Topre America, is hiring press operators, assembly operators and more. "As the economy is still suffering from the last downturn, we are still expanding, creating new jobs, new technology so it's a good chance for people to learn not just a job but a career," says Brad Pepper with Topre America. Governor Robert Bentley says, "We're so proud to have Topre here in Cullman, this means a lot to these people here." Governor Bentley says more money will come to the area and around Cullman County; the Japanese based company specializes in steel, for cars such as Honda, Nissan and Toyota.
Employees are expected to make around $15.50 an hour…Which is music to Stacey Johnsons' ears. Johnson has been searching for a job for the past few months. "It's a lot of work where I'm at and the pay scale is not where it should be for what I'm doing," says Johnson. If you're interested in getting a job with Topre America, you're encouraged to call the Cullman County employment office at (256) 737-0000.
